things have been quiet at the toque lately. quiet over on tumblr too. i was mistaken to think that creativity could be sparked solely by a change in platform. apparently, not the case.
maybe this quiet isn't necessarily a bad thing. maybe it's just what i needed after what seems like years of never being able to shut off the monologue in my head. but lately i've been missing it - that monologue. the synapse firing. the "a-ha!" moments. they are fewer and far between these days.
the quiet may actually just be the result of my life, which has fallen into a bit of a rhythm. some of it is good (no conference calls, no crazy managing directors), and some of it is not so good (on and off insomnia since i've been in London), but given everything happening in the world, my industry, and my company, the sailing is remarkably smooth.
we may break the radio silence a few times in December to post top singles and top albums, but that's about all i'll have the energy to crank out, despite a list on my desktop of 'stuff to write about' that keeps getting longer and longer. here's hoping that the toque gets more attention in 2009 than she did this year.
